Flexible creative direction and design support across branding, motion, and editorial design. I take static, dated visuals and bring them to life for social, motion, and everywhere your brand shows up.
Branding
ÁITIÚIL needed a brand that reflected its Connemara roots while feeling current and welcoming. I designed
a timeless identity that balances craft with modern Irish design.

Editorial
Feisty Type Studio is built on almost two decades of newspaper and magazine design, including some of Ireland's biggest titles. That newsroom background shapes an editorial design approach that's fast, disciplined and built to hold a reader's attention. From magazine features to a brand's long-form content, every project gets the same newsroom instincts: pacing, hierarchy and visual storytelling.

FAQ

How much does a brand identity cost in Ireland?
Branding projects can cost tens of thousands of euro in Ireland, and are often priced far out of the reach of new and growing businesses. Feisty Type is committed to making excellent brand design accessible to all levels of businesses, with a range of affordable packages. There’s something to suit every budget – from small businesses getting started in the market, to busy established organisations who need to scale up production of design assets. And Feisty Type is fully transparent about what you get for each package level – no hidden account manager costs. Feisty Type offers three tiers:Startup Spark from €2,200,
The Launchpad from €5,200
The Works from €9,500.What's the difference between a logo and a brand identity?
A logo is a single mark. A brand identity is the full system around it: logo, colour palette, typography, layout rules, guidelines, and the assets that keep everything consistent across print and digital.Do you offer freelance or fractional design support?
Yes! Feisty Type provides ongoing fractional design support on a monthly rolling basis, with a day rate starting from €400, for businesses that need senior design help without hiring in-house.How long does a brand identity project take?
A starter brand identity takes 2 to 3 weeks, a complete package 4 to 6 weeks, and a full brand and social system 7 to 9 weeks, depending on feedback and scope.Where is Feisty Type based?
Feisty Type is a design studio based in Dublin, Ireland, working with clients locally and remotely. What does "taking a brand from static to digital" mean? It means evolving a brand built for print or static use into a full digital-ready system: logos that animate, layouts that adapt across platforms, and assets designed to move, transition and tell a story over time on websites, social media and video.
How is fractional design different from freelancing? A freelancer is typically briefed per task: they deliver the files and move on. A fractional designer is embedded in your team on an ongoing basis, takes responsibility for the brand's consistency, manages design projects, and acts like an in-house senior designer at a fraction of the commitment.

We hired Paula Dallaghan to produce motion graphics and colour-grade a professional video for Palus Demos, a major EU-funded project. She delivered excellent work in both areas, and went further — flagging glitches and flow issues that hugely improved the final video. She's an easy, responsive collaborator, and we'll be hiring her again.
Testimonials
— Peter McGuire, account manager
at Palus Demos
I've trusted Paula with the graphic design needs for two of my separate businesses over the years. She handled everything from our logo design and brand building to marketing material and social media graphics. I've always found Paula incredibly easy to work with, highly professional, and an excellent communicator.
Communication is always seamless, prompt, and collaborative. She listens to what you need, brings her own creative input, and delivers, making the whole process easy and straightforward. Paula is reliable and creative, and I highly recommend working with her.
— Aoife Flaherty, founder Aitiuil
We had the opportunity to work with Paula @ Feisty Type Studio to create guestbooks for our 5 properties. It was an excellent experience from start to finish. Paula had great ideas about how to design and layout our books. She was able to advise on how best to highlight our brand, and she devised brand guidelines that we will follow now for all our print going forward. Paula was quick, efficient, thoughtful, and thorough. We will certainly be working with her again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend her work to anyone looking for a great designer!
